Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Neogen Esports collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use our website and in-house drafting services.
1. Who we are
This website and online service, branded as Neogen Esports (the “Service”), is independently owned and operated by Jeremy Chung in Louisiana, United States. Jeremy Chung owns and operates the Service, but does not own or operate the Neogen Esports organization.
In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Jeremy Chung as the independent operator of the Service, not the Neogen Esports organization.
This service is intended for adults located in the United States and Canada.
2. Information we collect
We collect information from three sources: information you provide, information received from Discord and Riot Games at your direction, and limited technical information generated when you use the Service.
Information from Discord
When you sign in with Discord, we receive and store your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar information. We use your Discord user ID to authenticate your account.
Information from Riot Games
When you submit a Riot ID, we obtain your Riot game name, tag line, PUUID, platform or region, ranked tier, division, and League Points through the Riot Games API. We may temporarily process recent ranked-match information to estimate your preferred roles. Raw match records and match IDs used for that calculation are not stored by the Service.
Information you provide and create
We store your selected main and secondary roles, in-house registrations, captain assignments, team names, draft picks, team rosters, event participation, and related in-house statistics. Future features may calculate player and event statistics from this history.
Technical information
We use an essential authentication cookie to keep you signed in. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request timestamps, error details, and other operational logs needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
Information we do not currently collect
We do not currently collect payment-card or bank information, precise GPS location, advertising identifiers, biometric information, government identification numbers, or sensitive demographic information such as race, religion, health information, or sexual orientation. We do not use advertising trackers or collect information for targeted advertising.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate accounts and associate Discord and Riot player identities.
- Verify Riot accounts and display ranked information.
- Estimate and maintain role preferences for role-based drafting.
- Operate registrations, captain assignments, drafts, teams, rosters, and completed-event history.
- Generate in-house player and event statistics.
- Prevent abuse, enforce event rules, maintain security, and troubleshoot the service.
- Respond to support, account, and privacy requests.
We do not use registration information to send promotional or marketing messages.
Automated processing
The Service may automatically estimate preferred League of Legends roles from recent ranked-match data, randomly select captains or draft roles, and apply event drafting rules. These features help organize recreational events. They are not used to make decisions that produce legal, employment, credit, housing, educational, or similarly significant effects.
Consent and choices
We require acknowledgement of this policy when you register an account. You may decline to provide information, but Discord and Riot account information is necessary to create and operate an account. You may withdraw consent to optional processing or request account deletion by contacting us, subject to information we may lawfully retain in deidentified form or for security and legal purposes.
4. Information other users can see
Authenticated community users and event administrators may see your Discord display name and avatar, Riot ID, rank and League Points, role preferences, registration status, captain status, team name, team roster, draft selections, and completed in-house history. Limited event information, such as event names, dates, and registration counts, may be visible publicly.
Do not choose a team name or display name containing information you do not want other community members to see.
7. Retention and account deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to the following practices:
- Account and profile information: retained while your account remains active and until you request deletion.
- Raw Riot match information: processed temporarily to estimate roles and not stored by the Service.
- Event and draft history: retained to preserve completed rosters, results, and community statistics. After account deletion, retained history is deidentified.
- Operational and security logs: retained only while reasonably needed for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and the hosting provider's ordinary log rotation.
- Backups: deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten through the provider's ordinary backup cycle.
- Privacy-request records: a minimal record may be retained when reasonably necessary to document and demonstrate completion of a request.
If you request account deletion, we will remove your user profile and direct identifiers, including Discord and Riot account identifiers. Historical event results and aggregate statistics may be retained in deidentified form so completed rosters, draft results, and community statistics remain accurate. They will no longer identify you as an active Neogen Esports account.
Deleting your account from the Service does not delete information held independently by Discord, Riot Games, Railway, or another provider. You must contact those providers directly to exercise rights concerning information they control.
8. Your privacy rights
We offer the following rights to users throughout the United States and Canada, subject to identity verification and applicable law:
- Request access to the personal information associated with your account.
- Request correction of inaccurate profile information.
- Request deletion of your account and direct identifiers.
- Ask about the categories of information collected and disclosed.
- Request a portable copy of account information when required by applicable law and technically feasible.
- Appeal a denied privacy request.
- Exercise these rights without discriminatory treatment.
Submit requests to chung_jeremy@jproton.me. To protect accounts, we may ask you to verify control of the associated Discord account, confirm information associated with the account, or provide other reasonable proof of identity. We will use verification information only to evaluate and complete the request.
We aim to respond within 30 days. If additional time is permitted and reasonably necessary, we will explain the extension. If we deny a request in whole or in part, we will explain the reason and provide appeal information when applicable. Authorized agents may submit requests where applicable law permits, subject to verification of their authority and the user's identity.
Canadian residents
Canadian residents may ask how their information has been used and request access to or correction of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or an applicable provincial privacy regulator.
9. Security
We use safeguards intended to protect information, including HTTPS, server-side environment secrets, restricted database access, authentication, and role-based administrator controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.
If we discover a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate it, take reasonable steps to contain and address it, and notify affected users or government authorities when applicable law requires notification.
10. Age and geographic requirements
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States or Canada to use this service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe an underage person has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
11. Third-party services
Discord, Riot Games, Railway, and other linked services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. This policy does not govern their independent practices. Review their policies before using those services.
Riot Games may make certain game-profile and match information available independently through its games, services, and APIs. Removing information from this Service does not remove the underlying information from Riot Games or prevent it from being available through other Riot-authorized services.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, vendors, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or community channels.
